Job description

  • Overall coordination with the team of all regions (VCTPL Hinterland). Meet the shipping
  • fraternity with the team as per the business requirement to retain and initiate incremental
  • business
  • Being 2 nd in Line to the BDC Head, Coordinate in general administration of the department
  • Strategy Management in identifying new opportunities of cargo diversion / conversion and
  • assist the HOD to build strategies
  • Set, Monitor and report to HOD on teams performance and goals frequently
  • Customer Service, Complaints Handling & MIS Management Analyse customer behaviour and
  • determine customer personas to the Management
  • Sustain the rail traffic and Initiate rail bound movements from ICD regions like Hyderabad,
  • Raipur, Nagpur, Guntur, NCR etc., in liaison with HOD and Rail Head
  • Identify bulk cargo, analyse the opportunities to convert the volumes into containersRole & responsibilities
  • Guide the team to prepare Strategical presentations to attract incremental business
  • Meeting Shipping lines at Local, Regional Levels, Exporters, Importers, Forwarders,
  • Transporters, CHAs etc., – existing and new for container movements ex- Vizag
  • Participation in trade meets, conferences and seminars if any
  • Visiting existing and new Project sites and keeping in touch with the companies.
  • Submission of periodical reports – Director’s Report, Quarterly report, Trend Analysis reports,
  • Sales Review Meeting PPTs, Monthly PPTs etc., to the Management along with Vaartha
  • (monthly journal) every month.
  • Budget Volumes Preparation – Service wise, commodity, customer wise etc., and build
  • strategies on how to achieve the targets.
  • Craft strategies for the team to Identify target audiences, opportunities to develop new regions
  • and tap the potential clients
  • Impart on the job training to the team & new joiners. Also to conduct classroom training to the
  • team for better productivity at regular intervals
  • Support the team in detailed cost analysis that is incurred by various customers currently at
  • other ports vis–vis comparison to cost at Visakhapatnam
  • Coordinate with the team on daily visit plans and follow up on the conversion / diversion
  • opportunities and share with HOD frequently
  • Any other responsibility assigned from time to time
  • Time to time task management given by management as per the business requirement.
